An incident where Minister Dayasiri Jayasekera came forward to carry Minister Buddhika Pathirana the latter of whom incidentally found it difficult to go with the sack in which he was in was reported. Actually both of of them had participated in a 'goni' race held in the Derana Diyawanna Avurudu contest with politicians taking part in the festival. Though contrary to rules of the contest, Minister Dayasiri proceeded to lift up carry him by jumping out of his sack and by running across.
At the end of the race when the female announcer inquired about this funny race, one could hear interesting responses to that query. "Though most people were able to get Minister portfolios, Buddhika who though came first from Matara was not able to get even a post of Minister and because Buddhika is not carried on the shoulders by anybody, he had to be carried" said Dayasiri with Pavithra and Dilan joining in with Dayasiri.
