An 82-year-old woman had been allegedly raped by a man at Giddawa three days ago.
The victim died after being admitted to Narampanawa hospital.
The suspect had entered the house of the woman at night when she was alone. The post mortem revealed that the death had occurred due to internal bleeding.
Rangala Police said the suspect was remanded until May 20.
